Scripture: Isaiah 42:1-2; Psalm 51
As God’s servants, this is how He considers us! Through these verses, God reminds us of how He thinks of us. He’s CHOSEN us, He DELIGHTS in us, and He’s put His SPIRIT upon us!!!! He surrounds us and is with us.
God CHOSE me…He DELIGTHTS in me…He put His SPIRIT upon me… God, thank you for this truth this day. I want to live life in the grasp of this truth. I want to walk this life and be the kind of daughter that lives out this truth. Lord, won’t you touch me today with your grace and mercy? Touch and bring to light those areas in my life that do not cry out this truth, nor live out this truth, that my Father loves me to the end.
In my response to this truth, I am reminded of Psalm 51. And this is my prayer: God, that as you “delight in truth in the inward being,” won’t you continue to cleanse and purge my inward being? Help me to appreciate and be mindful that you “teach me wisdom in the secret heart.” God, wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken REJOICE. Hide your face from my sins, and BLOT OUT all my iniquities. CREATE in me a CLEAN heart, O God, and RENEW a RIGHT spirit within me. CAST ME NOT away from YOUR presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. RESTORE to me the JOY of YOUR SALVATION, and UPHOLD me with a willing spirit.
As long as it is called “TODAY,” Lord, help us to have tender hearts, to genuinely let Your words sink deep within our spirits, Your word that is active and sharper than a double-edged sword. TRANSFORM our minds and hearts in Christ Jesus. Amen.
It’s been only 15 years since the Gospel came to Mongolia, and thankfully the Mongolian Church has been established; but not without challenges and struggles. They are the first ones to follow Jesus Christ in their family, in their community, and society, without any role model to learn from in their context. Pray that God will remind the believers in Mongolia of the truth of how God thinks of them. Pray that they will continue to light this torch for the next generation and the next. Pray Psalm 51 over the church of Mongolia that they would respond to God in such a posture.
Wow, no one has left a comment yet. How intimidating to be the first. Anyway here are my thoughts.
I know that the reading from Psalms 51 was meant to encourage us to get right with God which is very necessary to do daily, but verse 13 really stood out in my mind. “Then I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will turn back to you.” This says to me that we are to get right with God, not just to have peace in our heart, but so that we can teach transgressors God’s ways. Once we get right with God, we need to take action and make an impact on the lives of others, especially others that may not yet know God. So I guess I’ve got to go do something. Hope to see you there.

Great thoughts yhpark.
I really like what you wrote. Your thoughts about how we need to learn to live (action included) in the right way is right on. I also noticed in v.6 how God will teach us in our inmost place. I think both need to happen. Change in our hearts will naturally lead to change in our behavior.
6 Surely you desire truth in the inner parts;
you teach me wisdom in the inmost place.
Thank you for spurring on good thoughts and hopefully more people will join in the conversation.
Blessings,
