Bible in One Year Passages:
56 And wherever he came, in villages, cities, or countryside, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and implored him that they might touch even the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched it were made well.
It’s amazing to visualize as Jesus walks along the streets sick people pleading to touch a piece of his garment and getting healed. How awesome would that be today if we can witness such a miracle? We all want to believe that Christ can heal the sick, that through him miracles abound. We pray for healing for ourselves, our family, friends, strangers, etc. For some, healing comes. For others, it does not. Why can’t God heal every time we ask? Why can’t we touch the garment of Jesus?
It’s difficult to logically accept that if Jesus is a God of miracles, why some of us never reap such a gift. But the reality is that the ultimate miracle that impacts all us in ways that are greater than anything we can ask for in this world has happened. The gift of salvation and forgiveness of our sins.
When I’m sick or someone else is sick, I will still to pray for healing. But I will do so with the knowledge that God has already answered my prayer and that all is well.
Lord, as we come before you, we are blessed by your miracles. We thank you that you sent your son not to heal the sick nor to walk on water, but to ultimately die for our sins so that we can be made perfect and have ever lasting life in heaven. We are grateful that the ultimate miracle has been given to us for free and that all you ask in return is our devoted love. Please use us to spread your gospel so that others can also receive this gift. Father in heaven, we love you and we praise you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
