Bible in One Year Passages:
Mark 7:24-37, 1 Corinthians 13, Judges 17
24 My faithfulness and my steadfast love shall be with him,
and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
33 but I will not remove from him my steadfast love
or be false to my faithfulness.
34 I will not violate my covenant
or alter the word that went forth from my lips.
In today's verses, God speaks of how He has anointed David and how He will establish him as the king that can not be others can not defeat. There are several occasions where God speaks of His faithfulness (v.24, v.33-34) and how steadfast love that shall be with David forever.
In meditating upon these verses, I am so encouraged and filled with joy that God our almighty offers that exact steadfast love and faithfulness in our lives. As we live day by day, we are constantly faced with challenges and discouragements both in life and walk in faith, but to simply read how God has anointed David anointed him and calls him "servant" (v.20) gives me all I need to know that I to am his servant and he faithfulness will be with me. I am also challenged that as I interact with others in my life (work, family, church, etc), I need to reflect what God promises. Even when hardship comes, I am challenged to walk tall and strong as God's promise to be victorious is with me and to just remember as v.26 says "You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation."
Father, thank you for your amazing love! I pray that I am constantly reminded and encouraged by your faithfulness. Help me to be live a life that reflect that and to worship you every moment for this amazing promise. In Jesus Name, I pray, Amen.
