Bible in One Year Passages:
But turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind me, Satan! For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man." (v. 33)
Jesus shared directly about his imminent suffering, death and resurrection in three days. He compares and contrasts what the world gives and his promise of saving my life by giving it to the gospel. There is no comparison.
As Jesus points out in v. 33 - "you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men." I want to understand the difference and in all things seek out God in everything around me...my circumstances, my anxieties and my joys. In everything, to seek God's will only.
Father God, let me have in mind only those things that are from you and to let go of everything else. I give you all my thoughts, emotions and spirit. As I do this, let me know you more completely.
