Bible in One Year Passages:
Mark 8:31-38, 1 Corinthians 15:1-11, Judges 21
Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
We hold onto the Lord as our refuge and dwelling place. We do this in love and in the knowledge of who He is. We can call to Him in our troubles and have the confidence to know that He love and protects us and hears our cries for help.
This passage gives me the confidence and the encouragement to know that I can go to God with all of my worries and troubles. It is a great comfort to know that I can make Him my refuge and my place of rest. I need to learn how to more fully trust Him and to truly place all of my confidence in Him and not to hang on to that which the world gives me.
Lord, thank you for being my God and refuge. Let me not just hear the words of this psalm but to know the truth of your promise in my innermost soul. Reveal to me what I am still clinging to and where I am not placing my full confidence in you. I desire the peace that you give and the victory that you have already placed before me. I want to honor your name in my life...thank you for your love.
