Bible in One Year Passages:
Mark 9:14-29, 1 Corinthians 15:35-58, Ruth 2-3
5 Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O LORD, forevermore.
This Psalm illustrates the majesty, power and holiness of Christ’s Kingdom. In particular we are called to live a pure life that is worthy of His holiness, cleansed from sin through the blood of Jesus. It is only then the Lord’s Kingdom will be established in our hearts and our Lord Reigns in our lives.
As I meditate on this Psalm, I stop and reflect on my life to see whether my life is worthy of God’s Kingdom. Is my life worthy to befit our Lord’s house? Am I trustworthy to be robed in His majesty? Is my heart pure enough for the Lord to reign? The answers to these are a resounding NO on my own merit, but only through God’s grace who looks at us through eyes covered in the blood of Jesus, am I able to draw near for God to reign in my life.
Gracious God, I pray that you’d reign mightily in my life more and more each day. I pray I will not rely on my own ways but trust in yours and ultimately to proclaim that by the blood of Jesus I can confidently draw nearer to you even when I am unworthy. In Christ Name, Amen.
