Bible in One Year Passages:
Mark 2:18-28, 1 Corinthians 5, Joshua 15-16
Psalm 76:7-9
But you, you are to be feared!
Who can stand before you
when once your anger is roused?
From the heavens you uttered judgment;
the earth feared and was still,
when God arose to establish judgment,
to save all the humble of the earth.
Those who are humble in the eyes of God are favored by Him. But those who go against God will suffer judgment.
We as Christians are to be humble. We can go through suffering and persecution because we serve the one living God. Those who belong to this world, can lean toward mocking us. We are comforted to know as believers in Jesus Christ, it is not the wrath of man we ought to fear. Rather, it is those who are not righteous (nonbelievers) who ought to fear the wrath and judgment of God.
Dear Father in Heaven,
We give thanks to you, the one living and mighty God. We pray for those who are undergoing suffering, torture, and persecution because they believe and worship your Son Jesus Christ. We pray you would comfort them with the Holy Spirit and that they will be rewarded in heaven.
Amen.
