Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 14:25-35, 1 Timothy 6:11-16, Nehemiah 3
Does not wisdom call?
Does not understanding raise her voice?
on the heights beside the way,
at the crossroads she takes her stand;
beside the gates in front of the town,
at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud; [8:1-3)
The Scripture tells us that the wisdom is available everywhere. Wisdom calls out; understanding raises her voice. Everywhere we will be able to find wisdom and understanding, if we pay attention to.
"I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me." (vs 17).
Wisdom is not going to hide herself from us, as some of us might feel -- that it's hard to gain wisdom. She is available and wants to pour herself out to us.
And this wisdom, the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. And the fear of the Lord is the hatred of evil.
Two things I want to remember:
1. It's God's desire to pour out His wisdom upon me, and it's readily available as long as I seek for it.
2. One of the ways to wisdom is the hatred of evil -- when i fear the Lord, I hate the ways of evil.
Thus, ask for wisdom, and walk away from the evil ways -- anything that is.
Thank you, Lord, for pouring your wisdom upon us. Thank you, that it's you, Wisdom, who calls out to us first, in every possible way. Lord, help me open my eyes and ears to hear and see wisdom and understanding that surround me. As my attention is given fully to you, O Lord, I know that You will take me away from the ways of evil. Thank you, Lord, for being there for me always.
