Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 16:19-31, 2 Timothy 2:8-13, Nehemiah 8
Prov 10:17
Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life,
but he who rejects reproof leads others astray.
The author of proverbs compares and contrasts those who live a life of wisdom and those who live a life of foolishness. The author describes what the righteous do and what happens to them and what the wicked do and what happens to them as a result of their choices.
How can I heed instruction? The question that comes to my mind is - instruction to what end? Instruction on how to become rich? Or, instruction on how to know who God is and how to reflect the beauty of his image? If our goal is to love with the same love God has for us then we can heed instruction to that end. When someone corrects me or recognizes that I haven't been kind, thoughtful, etc, I will take that as instruction in the way of the Lord.
