Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 18:1-8, 2 Timothy 4:9-18, Nehemiah 13
1A wise son hears his father’s instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.
13Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who reveres the commandment will be rewarded.
Today's verses reminds me a story of two homeless men at Central Park. They were having idle chat and they found out that both of them were at one point, CEOs of big companies. So then they asked each other, "What happen to you?" One man said, "I listened to too many bad advices". And the other man said, "I ignored too many good advices". So then it is important to adhere to good advices and ignore bad advises. I think the wisdom comes in about knowing what are good and what are bad advices. Today's verse I think is telling us one way to do is by checking the source of this advice.
There are many choices I need to make everyday of my life. I need to listen to good advices and I need to ignore bad advices. One way to do is by "revering the commandments". Listening to the word of God needs to be part of my daily life.
Dear Lord, Thank you for the word you have given to me. I am just reminded once again what a privilege it actually is to have access to the word. Help me to adhere to the word of God so that I may able to make wise decisions. In Christ name I pray, Amen
