Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 19:28-40, Titus 3:1-8, Esther 6
V.3 Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. V. 9 The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.
Today's passage is full of practical steps to live out my life according to God's principles. God wants me to use my mind to establish my plans. I am to do this diligently and give all my effort and energy towards the plan. Then, trust the Lord with my plan by releasing it from my control and let God establish His steps. I may not always understand the outcomes but I must learn to accept them if I trust God fully and completely.
As I read today's passage, I'm reminded about how I've been making decisions and plans lately. I was able to commit my decisions and plans to God. I even worked the plans diligently day and night. However, when things stop going the way I expected, I took over the plans trying to make it work as I see fit. Yes, I was satisfied with the results but I can't help wonder how different results be if I truly be guided by God's infinite wisdom rather my own. With limited knowledge and life experiences, I wasn't patient enough to see it through and let God establish His steps. I need to trust and depend on God with all aspects of my plans and decisions.
Lord, I confess that I did not wait on you with the decisions and plans I've made recently. I desire to trust and depend on you, knowing that you have the best outcome for my immediate and long term future. Help me to practice and experience true joy in committing whatever I do to you, Lord.
In Jesus name, Amen
