Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 13:18-21, 1 Timothy 3:8-16, Ezra 6
7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever you get, get insight.
8 Prize her highly, and she will exalt you;
she will honor you if you embrace her.
In these verses, Solomon's desire to seek after the wisdom, including from his father David, is very apparent. You can almost feel his passion to attain the wisdom and the insight it provides. He even goes as far as placing it highly above all else, and points out the values it brings, including guarding, exalting, and honoring. But mostly he values the insight it provides.
I would like to have this same type of passion to gain wisdom. Knowing that such wisdom will bring with it an insight is especially desireable. Solomon sought out wisdom through a father's teaching; and made his ultimate request to God to grant him wisdom, above all other worldly goods (2 Chronicles 1:10-12 & 1 Kings 3:9-14). I now look to the words of our Lord, Jesus Christ, to attain even greater wisdom and insight. This gives me so much enthusiasm and desire to read His word, daily and throughout the day. I want to be completely immersed and soaked in His words.
Thank you Lord for allowing me to renew this passionate desire for your words. Your words provide so much insight into who you are and all your promises and goodness. I praise you and thank you. In your name I pray.
