Bible in One Year Passages:
30And great crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute, and many others, and they put them at his feet, and he healed them, 31 so that the crowd wondered, when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, and the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel.
Surely people who are sick was desperate and looking for the miracle. I can understand why they came to Jesus. What brought others to bring them to Jesus? Just because the sick asked them? I think there is more than that. It is quite interesting that the crowd who are not healed wondered what happened although they brought the sick. Didn't they expect the sick to get healed? Is that why they brought the sick to Jesus? Then why they wondered? Did their faith bring the sick? How about people who are sick in their heart? Who will bring them to Jesus? Do we have a role in that? Can we wonder through that?
Another interesting point is that the crowd glorified the God of Israel instead of Jesus who did the healing. Why didn't they praise Jesus but glorified God? They knew God, the Father, is behind everything Jesus does. Jesus has praised and glorified God whatever He did throughout the Bible. When God's will is done through people including Jesus, God is praised and glorified, not people who executed His will. That is how we know God's will!
We need to bring people who are sick in their heart as much as in their physical bodies to God. Through that, we can get blessed even more than people who get healed. We can wonder at His work. Then, people will see the glory of God. That's how we know what we are doing is God's will. We need to seek His glory first.
Mighty God, let us seek Your glory first. And bring the sick in their hearts and bodies to you so that we can blessed and glorify you. I pray that people will see Your glory through what we do. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
