Bible in One Year Passages:
Matthew 19:1-15, Acts 27:1-12, Leviticus 11-13
7 “And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you.
8 Deliver me from all my transgressions. Do not make me the scorn of the fool!
The psalmist goes through this chapter by first lamenting in the vanity and brevity of life but ends in seeking God's hand and hope. Verses 5-6 specifically speaks of how short and futile life is but then quickly turns to hope in verses 7-8, where it is declared that hope is in God.
I am very encouraged by how this chapters answers a lot of struggles, questions and sins that are currently present in our lives today: "what is the measure of my days", "all mankind stands as a mere breath", "man goes about as a shadow". The answer then comes in verses 7-8: Our hope is in the Lord who can deliver us from all our transgressions.
Lord, thank you for being the God that loves us and hears our prayers. Forgive our transgressions and the constant struggle we have in the midst of difficult life and situaations. We pray that we never forget your faithfulness and your ultimate sacrifice to save us. In His precious Name, I pray. Amen
