Bible in One Year Passages:
Matthew 20:17-34, Acts 27:39-44, Leviticus 20-22
Psalm 42:6-11 and my God. My soul is cast down within me; therefore I remember you from the land of Jordan and of Hermon, from Mount Mizar. Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me. By day the Lord commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life. I say to God my rock: "Why have have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?" As with a deadly wound in my bones my adversaries taunt me, while they say to continually,"Where is your God?" Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
In this passage we feel Davids struggles with God and the world. He calls out to God and asks, "Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the enemy?". But in his heart he knows the mercies of God and he remembers the times when God was so prevalent in his life. We see hope in him.
There have been many times in my life when I wonder if He is listening. Why do I forget all the times when He answers my call. He reminds me today of the thirst and hunger I had for Him. He reminds me today that He is always listening. What I will do different today is said in verse 11, hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
Thank you Father for always listening and being there for me.
