Bible in One Year Passages:
Matthew 13:1-23, Acts 19:23-41, Exodus 19-20
4 Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints,
and give thanks to his holy name.
5 For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime.
Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
This is a wonderful promise that God will never abandon His people or leave them to suffer for a long time. Sometimes He may discipline us as a consequence of our own sin or disobedience. He may also allow temporary suffering in our lives to strengthen our faith. However, He will always remain faithful to us and He is eager to pour out His blessings upon us when we seek Him and follow His ways.
What a comforting and encouraging Word from our Lord and the creator of the universe! As I look back on my life, these words have been so true. He has been so faithful in taking care of my life. I’m so thankful that He always provided the right situations and opportunities in my life in His own timing and not mine. Even during those times when things looked dark and weary, He did not abandon me but used those situations to teach me to be more obedient to Him so that I could experience greater blessings later. I can put complete trust in Him because I know that He is in control of all my situations and circumstances.
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for always showing me your favor. Thank you for the promise that you will never leave or forsake me but instead you will be faithful to take care of all my situations. Please strengthen my faith to persevere and pursue your holiness in my daily circumstances at home, church and work to bring you glory and honor. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
