Bible in One Year Passages:
Matthew 5:1-12, Psalm 9:1-12, Genesis 16-17
Acts 5:29
But Peter and the apostles answered, "we must obey God rather than men."
Even in the midst of persecution, Apostles trusted and obeyed God to manifest His work through them. They experienced miraculous escape from the prison, and foretasted the sense of martyrdom in withstanding the false accusation with the truth.
How many incidences have I completely lost the chance to declare the truth of gospel in my life? I have failed too many times in critical moments. All too many, have I taken a silence to save my face for I was afraid of what others might think of me. I have been afraid of men, and have been obeying men. God is patient and He is waiting for me to tell the truth. Tell others about what He did in my life through Jesus Christ. I only need to trust Him and obey.
Lord, I come to you with a trembling heart for I do not know what to say. Strengthen my mind in times of witnessing, and guard my speech so that I may declare your love and mercy. Let me boldly proclaim your goodness. Your grace is more than enough. I put my trust in you. In your precious name Jesus, I pray. Amen.
