Bible in One Year Passages:
5. When he entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him, 6. "Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly."
What's amazing is that this is the only instance of a master coming to Christ for healing of his servant and it happen to be a gentile and not a Jew. What happen to all the other servants that got ill. Where they just tossed aside and replace with healthy servants? Was there no love for ill servants by their master? Was it too inconvenient for masters to personally come and ask Christ? To humiliating?
I need to have the heart and love that the centurion had. I need to go the extra mile for people I know even if that means it's inconvenient for me. While it's easy to do this for my family and close friend, I need to learn to do this for co-workers, people reporting to me and even people that I may not like.
God, help me to care for people around. To have the kind of impact on their lives that can only come by loving them and show humility around them. To love them as you love them.
