Bible in One Year Passages:
20And behold, a woman who had suffered from a discharge of blood for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment, 21for she said to herself, "If I only touch his garment, I will be made well." 22Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, "Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well." And instantly the woman was made well. 23And when Jesus came to the ruler’s house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a commotion, 24he said, "Go away, for the girl is not dead but sleeping." And they laughed at him. 25But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.
Jesus healed a woman who had suffered from bleeding for twelve years and He saved a ruler's daughter from death to life. He did not hesitate but immediately healed a woman and saved a girl because of conviction and faith they had in Jesus' power and authority. At first glance, I did not recognize any common background about the woman and the ruler. However, what was amazing about their approach to Jesus was that they came with pure and simple faith in Him. They did not care about their reputation nor mind about what others may say. They approached Jesus believing in His power and authority. They accepted His Lordship in their lives. As a result of their faith, Jesus healed a woman's long term illness and saved a daughter's life.
In as much as I want to and should go to Jesus with all my life circumstance, I do not always approach Him first. I try to resolve situations or circumstances on my own. And when I cannot resolve on my own, then I seek after Him. I need to go to Jesus first knowing that He has power and authority over all my circumstances.
Lord, help me to approach you for all and every circumstances. I want to go to you with faith that is simple and pure just as the woman and a ruler did. May I experience your miraculous healing in my life.
