Bible in One Year Passages:

Journal Entry

Scripture

And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, "See that no one knows about it." But they went away and spread his fame through all that district. (v. 30-31)

Observation

1. The blind men and mute sought healing from Christ were cured.
2. Continuing his travels, Christ saw many who needed him just as much and he turned to his disciples to ask the Lord for more workers.

Application

1. I see some of the blind men, the mute and finally, the workers in me. Very humbling to know that someone who many times cannot truly see and is fearful of sharing beyond the comfort zone is given the honor and blessing to serve for Him.
2. The verses that sticks with me though are 30 and 31. The blind men were asked to keep it quiet but they couldn't. First, why did Christ ask this? (Study notes basically spell out for safety and security concerns). Second, they didn't listen. Finally, the fact they were so overwhelmed with the miracles that they took a bullhorn and screamed for joy all over the region. I think of the many times I have been blessed and have kept it to myself. Have the seeds been planted only to be suppressed and not allowed to grow?

Prayer

To seek and obey. To let go of my stubbornness and fear, open my heart, ask for the will and strength to serve as he calls me.
