Bible in One Year Passages:
19 - When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. 20 - For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
As the disciples were sent out, they are further cautioned on what lay ahead and what they will face. Verses 17-19 speak of the opposition they will face, yet immediately follows up with not having to worry about what or how to respond. The disciples are to have faith and endure through for the Holy Spirit will be with them.
Verses 19 and 20 are became another reminder on how to respond to the immediate surrounding that I deal and live every day. Often my attempts to share the Gospel with in my work settings are met with opposition, and am discouraged. I have to endure as Jesus taught the disciples to and remember to pray and rely on "Spirit of the Father" (v.20), for He will be the one who speaks.
Father, thank you for being who You are and reminding me that You are the one that speak through me. Help me to remember that, not be anxious, and simply rely on your presence. I pray for my brothers that I have been praying for that they will see continue to hear of the Gospel, and open their hearts to learning more of you. In Your precious Name, I pray. Amen.
