Bible in One Year Passages:
Matthew 3:15
But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.
Jesus saw clearly that everything had its purpose, and more importantly it was to fulfill all righteousness, God's perfect plan and will. Even though John the baptist, in his limited human logic, thought that the role was reversed, Jesus knew better. What appeared to be illogical to human is not so in God's plan. Everything has its purpose, including process we do not comprehend at the moment.
As I live day by day, and encounter various situations, I need to look beyond what it appears to be at the moment, step back, and seek God for His wisdom and plan. Whether the situation is uncomfortable, awkard, or otherwise, by seeking God's will for each of these moments, I will have a better understanding of how they fit in with God's greater plan. Furthermore, by intentionally seeking God's will and purpose for all situations, I can better align myself with God's perfect plan and will.
Lord, you are perfect in your plan and will. I am sorry that I often do not understand nor recognize that. Instead I go off on my own doing what I think makes sense. However, I realize again and again that I need to seek and follow your will. I ask for your continued guidance and wisdom in all aspects of my life, that I continuously seek your will and purpose in all that I do, with all whom I encounter, and in all my thoughts and actions, that I may become aligned with your perfect plan. Amen.
