Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 11:1-4, 2 Thessalonians 1:1-4, 2 Chronicles 15-16
v4. One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.
In verses 1-9 of this chapter we see David's praise of God and his Glory. He first professes of His greatness and how he meditates on His splendor. He further speaks of how he will speak of His fame and deeds (v4 and v7)
As I am reflecting upon this passage, I am touched and challenged by v4 where David sings that "One generation shall commend your works to another". As a father I feel that it is my duty to meditate all that God has shown in my life and to pass that experience down to my children. I am diligent in teaching the Scripture to my children and how to be a good followers of Christ, but I am challenged on whether I have shared the simple praise of God's amazing glory and goodness. I need to make sure that I pass on to the next generation that we praise God because of His unconditional love (so much that He gave His own Son) and that this is the fundamental basis of our relationship with God.
Lord, help me to be always be reminded on your greatness and your abounding love, and to constantly share simply who you are and your glory. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
