Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 12:8-12, 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5, 2 Chronicles 29-30
7 Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps,
8 fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word!
9 Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars!
10 Beasts and all livestock, creeping things and flying birds!
The last five Psalms finishes the whole book with a solemn and earnest call to praise our Father in Heaven, creator of Heaven and Earth. Not only does the Psalmist call on the people of God to lift up praise, he acknowledges, that all God’s creation should lift up praises according to its capacity.
As I read this passage, I am reminded of our purpose in life, which is to worship and praise our God and give Him glory. And even those things that we take for granted, the mountains, hills, trees and birds, were created to give God the glory. But in my lack of discipline and distractions in this world, I tend to forget again and again, my purpose in life. So I am to remind myself daily to meditate on this Psalm and start and end the day with the right heart, mind and soul to give God praise and glory.
Dear Father in Heaven, so many times I fail and get caught up in life’s distractions. Forgive me Lord, for I desire to live out my life according to your good purpose. Help me Lord to be gently reminded that all things on this earth does not matter more than giving you praise, glory and honor. Father, engrain in my heart your words that it may be filled with praises of you and that it may overflow onto others. In Christ Name, Amen.
