Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 12:22-34, 2 Thessalonians 3:13-18, 2 Chronicles 34-36
v6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!
Praise is mentioned 13 times in this short chapter. It is the perfect bookend chapter to Psalms, detailing the where, why, how and who of praising God. Praise Him in his sanctuary and mighty heavens. Why? For who he is and for his mighty deeds. With trumpets, lutes harps, tambourines, dance, strings, pipes, cymbals. And of course the who. Everything on earth that has breath must praise the Lord. Every man whom God has "breathed into his nostrils the breath of life," praise the Lord!
Genuine praise is a natural outworking of both an acknowledgement of who God is and an understanding of what He has done. Sin and the temptations of this world can distract my heart from giving God the praise that He is due.
Lord, I praise you for who you are and what you have done. Sanctify my heart that my praise to you will be pure and pleasing to you. In Jesus name, Amen.
