16 “No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a jar or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. 17 For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light.

Observation

Having received the good news of the salvation, it should be obvious that light of salvation be shone to others that all others would be able to receive the same good news of salvation.

Application

The grace that Christ has given us is so overwhelmingly great, that it should be "natural" for me to want to pass that along to all those around me. I have definitely been deficient in that area. I have hidden it away, not allowing it to shine to all those around me. I need to let it shine freely to all those encounter, not only at church, but at my work, at other social circles, and....

Prayer

Lord, I am sorry that I have been so reluctant or secretive in sharing the good news to all those around me. I pray that I may be more bold in sharing the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ to all those around me, including and especially to those at work and other non-church environments. May I, through both words and action, manifest the good news of salvation through our Lord. I ask the Spirit to always guide me in my words and action. Amen.
