13 For the Lord has chosen Zion;
he has desired it for his dwelling place:
14 “This is my resting place forever;
here I will dwell, for I have desired it.

Observation

In this Psalm, it it very clear that it is God's choice, not ours, that He has decided and chosen to dwell with us. He promises to be with us, making it His resting place forever, because that is His desire. His intentional love and desire for us is so apparent. With God's desire to be with us, He has expressed His faithfulness in staying us with forever.

Application

Despite our sinful nature, which keeps us dodging away from God, He has made it clear that it is His desire and choice to be with us. I feel so humbly blessed with such assurance. I have nothing but sincere thanks for His faithfulness even despite all my transgressions. I am so grateful to God's love and desire for me.

Prayer

Lord,
I am in awe of your faithfulness and your love for me. You are so great, yet you have chosen and desired to be with me. Even as I fall so often, you are always there, in all circumstances. Knowing your faithfulness, despite my lack of such faithfulness, makes me only want to give you that much more honor and praise. I give you sincere thanks from my heart of all your grace, blessing, and faithfulness. Amen.
