Bible in One Year Passages:
And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord. Luke 1:45
Extraordinary events taking place during tumultuous times in very ordinary people. And yet, Mary's faith is quite out of the ordinary. My paraphrase of this sentence would be "blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord [even though it is physically impossible]." All sorts of other questions would have entered and lodged in my mind. But the simplicity of her faith in responding in straightforward obedience was Mary's outstanding quality. And for that, God commended her through the words of Elizabeth.
I will strive to exercise a more simple faith, to believe that God will respond to prayer according to His will, to be obedient in areas that I know are God's will for my life.
Lord, help me to simplify my faith. I think and debate too much. Help me to act and speak more simply, in response to what I know are Your specific commands for my life.
