Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 2:8-21, Ephesians 4:17-24, 1 Kings 10
61 Though the cords of the wicked ensnare me,
I do not forget your law.
62 At midnight I rise to praise you,
because of your righteous rules.
The Psalmist although sees evil in the world, keeps God's commandments close to his heart.
The Psalmist gets up in the middle of the night to praise God.
Although there is evil in the world and I can undergo temptation and trials, by being in His Word (reading the Bible), praying, and listening to the whispers of the Holy Spirit, I can keep what God wants close to my heart.
There are times when I don't have the fellowship with Him during the day that I should. When I have difficulty sleeping on those nights, I feel it is His way of saying get up and let us have some time together. It is during the quiet and peace of the night that sometimes I have my most intimate moments with Him.
Dear Father in Heaven,
Thank you for being the God that you are. A God who loves us, one who extends grace and mercy to us. A God who we can come to at anytime of day or night. Please give us the desire to seek constant fellowship with you.
Amen.
