Bible in One Year Passages:
From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near at the very gates. (Matt 24:32-33)
When the Son of Man comes, there are two groups -- one who will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory, while the other--His elect-- will be gathered by the angels with a loud trumpet call from all corners of the earth. And today's Scripture tells us that the signs of the coming of the Son of Man are very clear. Various signs prior to His coming have been stated throughout the chapter, and there is nothing unclear about it, and it will be so sure -- no need for doubt or second guessing.
We often talks about the signs of the end time and how close it is, and often get into the discussion of when it will be. However, one thing very clear is that there are the signs and it will surely comes. Why does Jesus tell us this? For us to be ready for His coming.
Does my daily life reflect the life of welcoming Him -- the life that is consistent with my relationship with Jesus as my Lord and Savior? Living out a life of holiness that pleases Him that, when the angels usher us with a loud trumpet, that I will not be ashamed?
Thank you, Lord, for the signs, that keep me alert and encourage me to be ready. Lord, help me to live each moment, revealing Your life thru me. Help me not be foolish that although I know that the time is coming I would be careless. Help me walk closely with you being fully ready to welcome your coming. That I will continue to play my part in our relationship -- wisely investing my time with You, rather than wasting it away for temporal things.
