Bible in One Year Passages:
Matthew 25:14-30, Romans 8:1-17, Numbers 29-30
1(D) Deliver me from my enemies, O my God;
(E) protect me from those who(F) rise up against me;
2deliver me from(G) those who work evil,
and save me from(H) bloodthirsty men.
6But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me(AE) a fortress
and(AF) a refuge in(AG) the day of my distress.
17O my Strength, I will sing praises to you,
for you, O God,(AH) are my fortress,
(AI) the God who shows me steadfast love.
King David who ruled all of Israel fear for his life and his throne. As one of the wealthiest man on earth with great power and authority had no one he can turn to and trust. He turn to God for his petition of protection.
David had all the trappings of life--power, wealth, status, authority and yet he felt helpless and alone. In his hour of need David turned to God for help and not his wise men or inner circle of advisors. God is the only source of comfort and protection.
Lord, You are the one true God. No earthly comfort can bring the everlasting peace you provide. No amount of wealth, power or prestige can replace you everlasting love . Thanks you Lord . AMEN
