Bible in One Year Passages:
Matthew 26:57-68, Romans 11:25-36, Deuteronomy 9-12
5 Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
6 He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. There did we rejoice in him,
7 who rules by his might forever, whose eyes keep watch on the nations— let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah
Unlike many other Psalms, the author of this chapter is unknown, although scholars believe that it was written by King Hezekiah. Today’s verses can be separated into three parts. 1) Verses 1-4: The entire world should praise God. 2) Verses 5-7: People should think about God’s power. 3) Verses 8-12: God saves his people. One cannot read verse 6 without reflecting about the Israelites and the Red Sea and the Jordan River.
When I was in College, I remember going out to Korean markets and handing out those Christian pamphlets. Even just in LA, I see dozens of different form of sharing the word of God. I see banners, loud portable speaker, pamphlets, cassette, audio CD, internet, etc. Today’s verses remind me one of the most effective ways of sharing Gospel. That is, go and tell people how God affected my life. If I were to say, “My wife is the most beautiful person in the world.” I am sure I will hear from many naysayers. However, if I were to say, “In my eyes, my wife is the most beautiful person in the world to me” how can anyone dispute?
Dear Lord, thank you for being who you are. Because of who you are, to me personally, I can boldly share the word of God to everyone in a personal way. Help me to journey with you in a personal way so that it may be used in sharing and proclaiming how awesome you are. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
