Bible in One Year Passages:
Verses 19-20: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
After Jesus has resurrected, this is the last time the disciples are together with Jesus receiving the Great Commission. He commands his disciples to spread the Gospel to everyone in every part of the world. He further reassures that He is always with them.
I am reminded and always challenged with this command as it applies to all followers for Christ. It is an amazing blessing to be not only be saved by His Grace, but to be enabled and empowered to spread this news to all. Even if I may never go to "all the nations," my surrounding has specifically been given to me by God and it is my duty to spread the Gospel to those that I can reach. I easily forget my duty to do so but God continues to remind me through my accountability groups and friends.
Lord, help me to remember Your promise to be with me always so that I can diligently follow your command with confidence and passion through my actions and words. Continue to fill me with the Holy Spirit to carry this throughout my life. In Your name I pray. Amen
