Bible in One Year Passages:
Matthew 28:11-20, Romans 16, Deuteronomy 33-34
v12 O God, be not far from me; O my God, make haste to help me! v13 May my accusers be put to shame and consumed; with scorn and disgrace may they be covered who seek my hurt, v14 But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more. v15 My mouth will tell of your righteous acts, of your deeds of salvation all the day, for their number is past my knowledge.
We see in the second part of this Psalm that David's cries to God for help and deliverance turns to hope and faith. David wrote this Psalm in his advanced years and we see that even in the depth of his desperation, he can lift up hopeful praise to God, because God has a perfect and very extensive track record of faithfulness in David's life. God's "righteous acts and deeds" were too numerous for David to even put a number to.
How faithful has God been in my life? Like David, too numerous to count. As the years go by, I can't imagine there being a decrease in moments when I need to to cry out to God in desperation. But as I remember who my Father is and what he has done in my life, I know I can be hopeful that God's righteousness will prevail.
Heavenly Father, I praise you for your faithfulness in my life. I pray that even in moments of desperation, I will remain hopeful in your righteousness and salvation. In Jesus name, Amen.
