Bible in One Year Passages:
Matthew 22:34-46, Romans 3:21-30, Numbers 11-12
23 The one who offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me;
to one who orders his way rightly
I will show the salvation of God!” (ESV)
Throughout this Psalm, Asaph clarifies that our "worship and offering" must be sincere and consistent. It's not so much our motions or actions that counts, but rather our sincere thanksgiving that matters. Our action would be an automatic overflow reflecting our sincere state. Asaph also clarify that the it is not that "God needs our praise and offering" but rather that we give our thankgiving offering because He is so full of grace. Asaph concludes by equating offering thanksgiving with glorifying God.
My most sincere and constant thankgiving to God is what please God. I need be ever thanksful, first of all, for His grace despite my sinfulness, and for all His blessings and provisions to fill all my needs and beyond, and for His faithfulness that is so awesome and inifinite.
Lord,
I thank you with deepest sincerity. Words cannot express my gratitude to you. I pray that I may always be filled with this sincere thankfulness to you. Your grace to cover over my sin is unfathomable. And as if that's not enough, you provide faithful provisions and extended blessings that exceed way beyond my needs and contentment. I give you all the honor and glory.
