Bible in One Year Passages:
Matthew 23:13-24, Romans 4:13-25, Numbers 15-16
vs 1 Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man?
The steadfast love of God endures all the day.
vs 6 The righteous shall see and fear,
and shall laugh at him, saying,
Consistent with Psalm 1, the opening Psalter of this book of poems, prayers, and praise, is the contrast between the unrighteous (evil) person and the righteous. There is no gray area, there is no person who is between righteous and unrighteous in the eyes of God.
The only way that we can be right with God is through the blood of Jesus Christ. This is the new covenant, or promise between God and us. For those of us who are Christians, we need to be reminded everyday to take up our cross. For anyone who has not accepted Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Saviour, if you would ask Jesus into your heart and ask him to forgive you of your wrongdoings, then you will become righteous in God's eyes.
Dear Father in Heaven,
You are a mighty, loving, and righteous God. Please remind us each day of the costly and painful sacrifice your Son made upon the cross in order for us to become righteous with you.
Amen
