Scripture

"And they tried to arrest him, but feared the multitude, for they perceived that he had told the parable against them; so they left him and went away." verse 12

Observation

This Parable of Vineyard was to have the priests, scribes and the elders who were accusing Jesus, realize what they have done, and what they would do in the future. In the history, multitude of judges and prophets were sent in the name of God to have Israel's heart return to God, yet people have denounced the messenger and continued following their own ill-fated desires. These desires went after illegal ownership and authority over matters around them just as in this parable. In their eyes, Jesus was viewed as a rival who would take away their comfort and prestige. Nevertheless, they quickly came to a grip that there were a lot of people who could revolt against their false accusation, and moved away.

Application

This parable was a stern warning to those who were not doing their job as tenants in God's vineyard. They sinned against God by being boastful and arrogant.
In order for me to do what is proper as a tenant in God's field, I need to be more akin to why I was placed there to begin with, and stop wasting time accusing those who are doing their job faithfully.

Prayer

Lord lead me to be a humble servant of yours. In your precious name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
