Bible in One Year Passages:
Mark 12:1-12, 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, 1 Samuel 19-20
Psalm 103:14
"For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust."
David is thankful for all the blessings of God that he has received. He recognizes God who has forgiven his iniquity, who healed his diseases, who redeemed his life from Sheol, who crowned him with love and mercy, who satisfied him with goods so that he would enjoy his life. David also remembers what God did to Moses and people of Israel despite all the shortcoming of his people.
Here, amidst David's testament, God's characters are well ascertained. David described God as the one who is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. God who does not keep his anger forever, and does not deal with us according to each of our sins. But rather, His love conquers them all, His passionate love deals with us gently as a potter handles his delicate vessel. He knows the matrix of my heart and its inherent weak nature. He is kind and merciful that I too can come as I am. He knows me.
Lord, thank you for loving me as I am. I am weak and terrible in many disciplines in my life. Thank you for giving me another day to think about you. May this day be filled with your blessings as I try to live a day of thanksgiving. In your precious name Jesus I pray.
