Journal Entry

Scripture

15 As for man, his days are like grass;
he flourishes like a flower of the field;
16 for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more.
17 But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children's children,
18 to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments.

Observation

I observe who we are and who God is in these passages. We are like grass or flower that flourishes just for little bit and gone the next. But God is everlasting as it is said his steadfast love is everlasting to everlasting and his righteousness extend to children’s children and to those who obey his commandments.
In addition, God established his throne in heavens and his kingdom rules over all. He has angels and hosts who obey his voice and minister and both carry out his will. Thus my soul blesses and praises the Lord.

Application

Bible is great in putting things in perspective. Though there are a lot of things to do while I live on earth, my life is but of breath or dust. Compared to that God is everlasting God and I take comfort in the fact that He loves me with everlasting love. That is why I should be mindful of Him and bless His Name and even love him back. God does say whoever has His command and obeys them is the one who loves him(John 14:21) and these passages repeat several times that we are to keep his covenant, remember to do his commandments and even his angels and hosts obey his commandments. Thus, I have to be careful to know the Bible and obey what it says in all of my ways. Today, I will review some memorized verses and obey whichever area I might not be obeying.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we bless your Name because you truly are worthy of all our praises. You are great and mighty God who do great wonder and miracles in the world. Yet you love each one of us with love that is everlasting and for that I am grateful. Lord, please help me to read your words like love letters from you and obey them because this brings delight to you and also provide guidance for our brief time on earth. Pray our lives are led by the power of your Holy Spirit to carry out your will. In His Name, Amen.
