Bible in One Year Passages:
Mark 13:14-23, 2 Corinthians 11:1-15, 1 Samuel 30-31
1 Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!
2 Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD, or declare all his praise?
13 But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel.
21 They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt...
This psalmist begins the Psalm with praises and thanksgiving, and though sadly, he recounts and acknowledges the wickedness of his generation and their fathers, the majority of whom had forgotten of His works...
This psalmist must be one of the fewer (than the majority) who had not forgotten His steadfast love and faithfulness, having recorded of His mighty works for the following generations to learn and reflect upon. And as I appreciate the privilege of the Word of God readily accessible for me to meditate on, I also realize how blessed I am to have brothers and sisters in Christ I feel deeply connected with spiritually... To me, they are the psalmist of today, who continually remind me to not forget His steadfast love and faithfulness by sharing with me of the wondrous works He's done for them. How incredible it is to have these psalmists around me today.
Dear Lord, Jesus, thank you for reminding me that your faithfulness and steadfast love are real to this day through these brothers and sisters in Christ around me who are walking in faith, experiencing your mighty and gentle hand upon them in their lives. Thank you for them indeed...
For your name is worthy...in Jesus name, Amen.
