Bible in One Year Passages:
12 And on the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb, his disciples said to him, “Where will you have us go and prepare for you to eat the Passover?”

17 And when it was evening, he came with the twelve. 18 And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.” 19 They began to be sorrowful and to say to him one after another, “Is it I?”
Following years of tradition passed on from generations, the disciples ask how and where they would have the Passover meal. According to my study Bible, "Unleavened Bread" was a feast which symbolized the removal of sin in the life of Israelite believers (Exodus 12:14-20.) The Passover meal fell on the first day of this feast.
Soon, Jesus would fulfill prophesy and God’s redemptive plan. He is betrayed and ultimately sacrificed to save the whole world.
The disciples “walked” with Jesus for about three years at the time of this Passover meal. They were with him day and night from the moment they heeded the call to follow Him. Yet the disciples are faced with the reality that one of them would betray him. In this moment of doubt, the disciples are deeply saddened. One by one, each of twelve ask Jesus “is it I?” We know that Judas is the one, but rest of the disciples scatter when Jesus is captured.
Am I not like the disciples? I profess to follow and know Jesus, but how real is my love for Him. How much do I truly appreciate His sacrifice and love for me. I need to spend some time in quiet reflection and recognize areas in my life which are displeasing to Him. I am reminded that to love God is to obey Him. “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. “ (1 John 5:3).
Lord, fill me with your Holy Spirit so that I can obey you starting with the small things. In doing so help me to experience You in a tangible way as you transform my heart and life. In Jesus name, Amen.
