Bible in One Year Passages:
55Now the chief priests and the whole Council were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none. 56 For many bore false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree. 57And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying, 58 "We heard him say, 'I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.'" 59Yet even about this their testimony did not agree. 60And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?" 61But he remained silent and made no answer
Jesus was truly without sin. It is so simple but what truth. We see that chief priests and Sanhedrin try their best to find sin within Jesus for many years. But they could not; he was totally sinless. They had to have people give false testimonies. And when they did, Jesus did not defend himself even through he knew if they found him guilty he would be put to death. Why would Jesus endure so much for others? Because He Loves us. What an example for us to follow.
How would I react in this situation. 1st I'm not sinless but I surly would not stay silent when I'm fasely accused. 2nd. I could die for people I love but not for others I don't even know or like. What does this say about me. I need to learn to follow Jesus. Take steps to care about people I do not know. Less of me and more of Jesus.
Father God, help me to become more like. Allow me to care for not just my family, friends, people around me but others who are strangers. Help me to understand them, care for them as I would like my own family. Amen.
