Bible in One Year Passages:
Mark 14:53-65, Galatians 3:1-14, 2 Samuel 14-15
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!
Psalmist writes "fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom" and it must be practiced to have good understanding. Fear leads to repentance, to faith in Christ, to new life, to obedience, and to thankfulness. From Wisdom it leads to making Godly decisions as we are changed.
I often seek wisdom in my life. How to make the best decisions in my life. Many times my decisions are made based on my upbringing, experience, intellect, feelings (such as love, anger), etc. which often leads to wrong decisions. But today's verse saids, the beginning of wisdom is fear of the LORD. I need to have the LORD in the center of my decisions. In order to make wise decisions I need to continue to practice it.
Father God, Thank you for your love for us by what you have done and instructing us. I pray that your words will be in my heart and I would not be quick to decision but pray and have you in the center of my decisions. Amen.
