Mark 15:15
Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.

Observation

Pilate knew Jesus was innocent but his lack of courage led him to hand Jesus over to be flogged and crucified. At the end, all Pilate wanted was to keep the peace and please as many people as possible.

Application

How often am I led to do things just to please people? There are so many times when I lack courage to stand up for what I believe in due to fear of confrontation or bad feelings. I would like to live my life in a way where I am true to my convictions.

Prayer

Father God I thank you for speaking into my life as you always have. I ask for courage to stay the course and follow in your footsteps. There are so many times in my life where I am led to please others to receive their love and acceptance. I want to be reminded of your love for me. I want to be reminded of how your love for me is always more than enough. Thank you for the love unfailing love.
