Bible in One Year Passages:
Mark 15:33-41, Galatians 5:1-12, 2 Samuel 20-21
V1 Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!
The psalmist asked that God's name be glorified and not the people's name be glorified. Too often we ask God to help us and when our prayers are answered, we want to receive glory. We do not give where credit is due. " Everything in the heavens and earth is His. Riches and honor comes from Him alone and He is the ruler of all mankind. His hand controls power and might and it is at His discretion that men are made great and given strength."(II Chronicles 19:11-12) As we see here that God truly rules over the heaven and earth. He alone can give us the riches and honor. He is the source of all strength, power, and greatness that we we enjoy in our lives. We need to recognize his awesomeness and honor Him always.
Our God is truly great and awesome. His greatness is beyond my understanding and yet there are moments where I reduce his power to what I can see and feel. I should remember God's greatness and His name be glorified in my every day happenings.
Lord, may my heart always praise your great name and give you glory and honor. May I always remember the source of my strength and blessings. May I recognize you today in my busy schedule and not forget who provides the results of my activities.
