Bible in One Year Passages:
Mark 15:42-47, Galatians 5:13-26, 2 Samuel 22
1I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.
2Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
In this Psalm, the Psalmist declares his love for the Lord and explaining why he loves the Lord. The Psalmist first proclaims his love because God has heard his voice and pleas for mercy. Through faith in God he is assured that God hears his cries and through tangible experiences in his life, he knows that he can call upon God no matter the circumstance.
I am reminded that I too should declare my love for God not only for my own knowledge, but display this to others who may witness it. I am to show my family, friends, co-workers that my love for God exists because He first loved me through his grace and mercy. And that through real-life examples, I can boldly proclaim that my God is a living God that hears my prayers and answers them accordingly.
Heavenly Father, help me to always be reminded that I love, because you first loved me, through your son Jesus, I can hold onto to this truth day by day and live out the life you have intended for me. Lord, may my life be an example to others who surround me that you do hear our voice and even in times of trouble you hear our pleas.
In Christ Name, Amen.
