Bible in One Year Passages:
Mark 11:1-11, 2 Corinthians 4:7-18, 1 Samuel 11-12
5 For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
This thanksgiving Psalm reminds us of the characteristics we know and love about our Lord: He is good, His love for us is forever, and He is faithful.
Our Lord is so infinitely patient, even with our unending tendency to deviate from Him and be sinful. He is so unilaterally faithful, even though we are not. And He is loving and inclusive, not just for the past and current generation, but for all generations.
Because the Lord knows that I fail Him more often than not, He has created a way to cover all my sins, at the price of His son, Jesus Christ. Even as I fail Him constantly, He is ever so faithful and showers me with His love. I am so grateful for His unending love and grace. I need to and want to bring all focus back to Him. As His servant, I want to be used as a conduit to pass along His love and faithfulness to all those around me. And as the psalmist did, I want to thank and praise Him at all times.
Lord,
I thank you with most sincere heart, for you are so good, loving and faithful. I praise you for your goodness. And thank you for your love and faifulness. I give all my love and devotion to you, and only you. May I be used by you in passing along your love and faithfulness to all those around me, friends as well as strangers. May the Holy Spirit guide me and give me strength to declare your love to all those I encounter, sharing how good and awesome you are. I give all the honor and praise to you. In your Son's name, Amen.
