Bible in One Year Passages:
Mark 11:20-26, 2 Corinthians 5:11-21, 1 Samuel 15-16
vs 1, 2: Hear my prayer, O LORD; let my cry come to you! Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress!
Incline your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call!
vs 10: because of your indignation and anger;for you have taken me up and thrown me down
The person who wrote this Psalm is suffering tremendously. He comes to God in prayer, in earnest prayer, crying out from the deepest part of his being. The suffering may be due to his sin.
There are times when we are under great affliction and no words can express the sorrow we feel. It is comforting to know we can turn to God and that He will hear our prayers. We also need to examine our lives, and if there is any sin we are committing then ask for forgiveness and turn away from it.
Our Dear Heavenly Father,
We are grateful that we can come to you and cry from our hearts. When we cannot express in words our deepest sorrows, we trust the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf. You are a mighty and awesome God, and we honor you no matter what state we find ourselves in...for you are worthy to be worshipped.
Amen.
