Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 23:1-12, Hebrews 9:11-22, Isaiah 43-44
11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. (Prov. 25:11)
This is very powerful and the verse is very "fitting". The word "fitly" has so much in there, but at the same time it does not require explanation. The verses tells me that it is important to be able to say and speak the word of truth in "fitting" circumstances. There are lots of sayings and words that are spoken all the time. Some are very good sayings, however, sometimes they are not "fitting" to the circumstances. Good sayings will stay as "good" sayings, but when it is spoken at the right time and at the right setting, it becomes a "treasure" like "apples of gold in a setting of silver.
Before I say things that are on my mind, I will seek His wisdom to be able to saying encouraging words to build others in a timely and at an appropriate setting. I will seek God's wisdom to help me to speak "fittingly" from now on.
Lord, help me to know when and where to say what is on my mind. Also, grant me the discernment to know what to say and what not to say. Always, help me to saying words of encouragement and edifying. In Jesus' Name I Pray. Amen.
