Bible in One Year Passages:
Luke 23:32-38, Hebrews 10:19-39, Isaiah 49-50
Proverbs 26:27 Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come back on him who starts it rolling.
Today’s verse reminds of the story of Haman who erected a gallows which he built to hang Mordecai, but Haman himself ended up being hanged on that gallows. The guillotine which was invented to execute French citizen, later on was used to execute Marie Antoinette. Another similar adage is that “if someone can do it for you, then someone can also do it to you”.
I think today’s scripture is quite simple in its nature, “don’t plan any harms on anyone as it will come back and harm you back”. I think the New Testament goes even one step further, “Don’t even think about harming someone, even if this someone happens to be your enemy. As matter of fact, you should love your enemy”. As a believer, I think it all starts with thinking. What you think you do, and what you do repeatedly eventually becomes your habit and your habit, good or bad, will mold who you are.
Dear Lord, thank you for the word of wisdom today. Help me today not to even think about harming anyone, but if I do, then please rebuke my spirit so that it will be in tune with you. Let the word of mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable to you Oh Lord. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
